This time when I approached my sit spot, I almost missed it again. This time it’s due to the bush beside my sit spot had lost it’s leaves. The bush had a full thing of leaves last time I was there, but they are gone now. When I sat down I looked at all the trees near me. Almost every tree around me had lost almost all their leaves. Most of the trees went from around 40 leaves each to around 10 leaves. I looked at the leaves on the ground around me and I couldn’t find any green leaves. The only colors were oranges and yellows. I only saw one bug fly by this time. There is a weird absence to the area. Another thing that was missing was the bird poop and feather. The water is still full of leaves. There are more ripples in the water too, and there are no still spots. The spot I focused on last time now has leaves in it and the stillness is gone. The water seems shallower due to the leaves. The air seems drier than earlier in the semester.

The sycamore tree in my sit spot is almost completely bare. Last time the tree had at least 40 leaves, but this time it seems to have more like 10 leaves. The moss seems to be the same as last time and so do the roots.

The sky was cloudy on this day. The clouds in front of me were lighter and they got darker as I turned around like a gradient. The clouds started as a light blue, white, and light purple and as they go back they turn into a darker grey. As I watch they sky it gets darker by the minute. A plane went by the second I looked up. I also found a bird’s nest in a tree above.

The loudest noise in my space was the waterfall. It was much louder than all the cars in the distance, the cars on campus, and the plane that flew by. Other than those sounds the area seemed almost silent. The silence was kind of eerie. I decided to focus on the waterfall while listening because it was loudest. Trying to watch the waterfall as it got darker was interesting. The waterfall almost looked still and the only thing I could see is the shapes and shadows of it. In this lighting it almost felt like looking at a still picture while listening to the sounds of the image.

I thought it was interesting how the bush lost all its leaves in such a short span of time. Last time I remember it blocking my view from seeing what was making a noise. Its leaves were also still green then too.
