My sit spot is nestled away behind the faculty break room facing south east at the ash tree. In front of where I sit what’s left of a dried-up creek. I chose it because it was easy to get to an partly hidden away from everyday people. Plus, with a lot of rain it could be a possibility of my creek flowing. I feel very optimistic about my sit spot because it holds a lot of potential for the season to come.

While sitting at my sit spot was a nice experience the bugs were not. After an hour and a half of sitting an observing I walked away with nine very itching bug bites. While observing at my sit spot I heard two distinctly different bird calls. One I figured out later to be a blue jay, the other is still under investigation. I followed the blue jay for a couple minutes as he rustled through the leaves to look for bugs to eat. After he flew away, I focused more on looking for animal clues around me. I noticed a ground hog hole to the south of me and after closer observation of not seeing any evidence of recent movement form the last time, I was there I don’t feel that a ground hog inhibits that hole any more.

Once I was done observing the animals around me, I started looking more at the plants around me. Mostly covering the ground was a vibrant green type of moss mixed in with a low growing grass that resembled little lily pads. To the north of my sit spot was also two red little mushrooms not sure if they were poisonous so I didn’t touch them. The tree right in front of me I believe is an ash tree. It’s mostly dead with little sprouts at the base of the tree trying to revive it

My first experience is a lot different then my last experience. I enjoyed this one a lot more than my last one however I will remember to bring bugs pray the next time I go. The first time I went I rushed through it not truly getting the full affect this time I feel I did try harder and was able to submerge a little deeper into nature and its tale.

The three things that I choose to follow is my, struggling to survive, ash tree, the dried up creek, and the possibly empty groundhog hole.
