I arrived at my sit spot at 4:05 p.m. This later than I usually go , since I am usually at my spot around lunch time, however the time of the day was the same as usual so it was not super different. I chose to go again at this time of day to contrast it with the sit spot that I did last time which is when I went at sunrise. In addition, I enjoy going at this time of day because it is not so dark that I cannot see anything and it is not usually that cold which was a problem that I faced last time.
Garden view
The experience was very pleasant. It was a warm and sunny day with few clouds in the sky. The garden was extremely nice to look at with all of the colorful trees and the beautiful leaves blanketing the ground. My sit spot has continued to have more leaves in the water, which makes it easier for the crayfish to hide. Since the water is now colder the crayfish are burrowing so I did not get to see any. When I went to my sit spot at sunrise last time the crayfish were also hiding because of the cold, however this time I did get to see some of the small fish and a few salamanders hanging out that were not out at sunrise. Last time there were many bugs such as crickets and spiders but the only bugs I saw or heard this time were water striders. Water strider
This is my favorite time to go to my sit spot because I love first of all how it is still warm, but most importantly I love getting to watch all of the animals. When I went to my sit spot at sunrise the only animals I could see were spiders and a few birds. This time however, I got to see salamanders hiding
under rocks and chasing each other through the water. I also saw some of the small fish that live under my rock darting around through the leaves at the bottom of the creek. My favorite was watching and listening to the squirrels scurrying through the leaves all throughout the garden around me. It is peaceful to watch them play and

I enjoy the sounds that they make as they crunch the leaves.
This session was much more enjoyable than the previous one. I liked how the weather was warmer so it actually made me want to sit at my spot longer. I also enjoyed being able to actually see the animals at my spot and not just being able to hear them. Many of the ones in the water were probably hiding during the night time when the temperature dropped and the water got way colder. They were also probably hiding from some predators that might come out at night like feral cats and skunks. The only thing that I really did enjoy from the sunrise session was listening to the crickets that are more active at night. Since they are not really out during the day I did not get a chance to hear them at my session during the day. I did enjoy watching the sunrise but I would much rather go during the day.
My sit spot
I too love going to my sit spot later in the day for these reasons! It is a nice way to wind down and watch the world around you slow down as well. I’m glad you had a pleasant experience going to your sit spot at a different time than you normally do!
