My sit spot is right next to the soccer field along the creek. Close to my spot is a weeping willow tree, if you take about fifteen steps to the left of the tree and go down the hill toward the creek you”ll be in my spot! Once i got to my sit spot I sat for about twenty minutes or so before getting up and walking around. During my sit time I noticed there was much more activity in the area than there had been in my previous sit spot day. The weather was nice, it was warm, had a nice breeze, and the sun was going to set in like an hour or two. While I was sitting there I noticed a lot of squirrels running through the trees jumping from one to another. There were a lot of birds flying around and making a lot of noise along with a lot of crickets singing. The htree things I am observing over the course of the semester are a dying tree that looks like it is rotting out at the bottom, a baby tree that looks like it may be growing in the wrong area and a tree that looks like it may be dying and losing some of its bark. The dying tree and the rotting tree doesnt look like it has changed any, but the baby tree looks like some of its leaves have fallen off. The baby tree is very small and with its leaves already falling I worry that it wont survive through the winter.
Once I got up to walk around and explore my site the first thing I wanted to look at was many of the smaller trees in my site looked like they has a waxy coating over the leaves, after going over and feeling them I noticed it was just the texture of the leaves naturally. While at my sit spot I dont see a lot of organisms besides birds and squirrels, so when i was walking around i made sure i took the time to look for more organisms. On many of the trees in my sit spot i noticed an abundance of ants on many leaves and lower branches. I also noticed many leaves had a lot of spots of color in them. On most of the trees you can see organisms at the base of the trees. I looked at these things because i was just generally curious about the coloring and organisms. Without getting up and walking around I wouldnt have noticed the organisms living at the base of the trees and the ants that live on the trees and I wouldnt know that the white coloring of the leaves is really just the texture of the leaves an dnot just the appearance.
Walking around my site looking and touching things is not usually something I would do, I do not like bugs and walking around gives me a higher chance to touch bugs. overall walking around my spot was not that bad, not too many bugs touched me and I didnt see too many bugs to be uncomfortable. The tree adaptations i saw were very hard to think of at first, until I started walking around again and closely looking for things. The first adaptation I saw was a tree that grew more outwards rather than up, it looks like it did this to get the proper sunlight and nutrients it needed because there is a larger tree that canopys above it. The second adaptaion I noticed was a mushroom started growing inside the hollow tree, which is adapting to a new introduced enviroment. The third and final adaptation I noticed was a younger tree seemed to grow right next to another tree, it grew into an L shape then grew straight up. This adaptation was probably caused because if it wouldve just grown straight up it wouldve grew into the other tree. I feel like examples of adaptations are harder to think of because when we think of adaptations we think of things that take a long period of time.

I’m sorry about your baby tree! Maybe figure out what species of tree it is and if you can assist in its survival rate? Good you didn’t have any negative occurrences with any bugs
