I visited my sit-spot on November 18th from 4:30-5:15 pm. As it has been the entire week, the wind was blowing relatively hard. It was 45 degrees, but with the wind it felt much cooler. The area was really wet so I had to stand while I was there. The scenery has lost much of its greenery now and I could tell that the seasons have changed tremendously since my first sit spot.

Most of the plants still have some leaves, but they are starting to turn brown and become less lush. I didn’t see or hear any animals while I was there. I figured this is most likely be attributed to the high wind and cool temperature. Most of the noise was from the wind, but there were a few cars drive by behind me.

The sky was clear but appeared a light blue, almost white color. By the time I was leaving, it was starting to get dark but the sunset was not anything spectacular.

Two of my three things are now gone. The red flower was gone after the first week, but this time, the pile of branches had been washed away by flooding and a large puddle remained there. The ivy vine had began to wilt with fewer leaves. I wasn’t sure how the ivy would change with the seasons, but I wasn’t very surprised with how it turned out. I knew we had received a lot of rain over the last few weeks, but since I had been off campus, I hadn’t considered that it would affect the pile of branches. However. that had been the most dynamic change that I had observed over the semester.

Overall, my time in my sit-spot has been a nice experience. I was disappointed that I had to miss two sessions but it was also interesting to translate my on-campus experiences to a spot in my own backyard. I think it will be something I can continue when I return home for the semester. Reflecting back on each session, I think my time with Pierre the spider was my favorite and I’m sure it will stick with me for a while.
