Sit Spot

The Fallen Branches by my Sit Spot

Time of arrival: 8:10 am (Dawn)

Time of departure: 9:10am
Date: 10/28/20

For this sitting spot I wanted to go near dawn so I left around 8:00am and got to my sit spot at 8:10am. I have not been to my sit spot that early before. I usually go there around 1:00pm or 2:oopm so it was a lot different from my past visits. I chose to go there in the morning because I have been stressed and I wanted to start my day by going to a peaceful place where I can get in the right headspace before classes.

When I first got to my sit spot I realised that I could not get to my actual sit spot due to the fallen branches that were in my way to get over. I could have just crossed that creek but I had to go to class after my session so that was not an option. After noticing the branches I noticed that it was a lot chiller than it normally is there. When I looked up I noticed that the sky was grey and a little foggy. I noticed that there were fewer water striders there, I liked seeing the water striders because they move around so much and act differently from each other.

The sounds that I heard in the morning was nice. The water almost seemed to be louder than normal, I don’t know if the time really had an effect or I was just stressed but it was nice. I also heard the crickets mixed with the birds chirping and the frogs croaking. It sounded like a sound machine that I would use to help me fall asleep.  The rustling in the bushes was definitely more startling in the morning than it is in the afternoon.

The three things that I was keeping track of changed a bit. The berries that I was looking at were no longer there. The branch that they were on was completely bare! I couldn’t really check on the orange substance because I couldn’t get over there but it didn’t seem like it had spread any farther. lastly, the water striders were not as active as they usually were and there were fewer water striders.
