yesterday, while I was walking to my sit spot I wasn’t very present and didn’t notice a groundhog that was hanging out a couple of yards away from me. It wasn’t until it sprinted full speed away from me that I noticed it. This small encounter got me to realize how far my mind had wandered and that I was not at all present. During my 15 minutes, I felt more at peace than I had in a while. The sun was out and it was midafternoon so it was warm. There were no clouds and no wind, only the slightest breeze. It was so quiet too, only the sound of squirrels in the trees, some crickets in the grass and the occasional bird.
I checked in on the onion from last time, and while i was looking at it, I noticed that they were everywhere. They were pretty easy to find because they grow faster than the grass around them so they are much taller. I could smell the onions as soon as I walked into the field, I think its because I was already thinking about them. Most of the trees had lost their leaves, and I spent some time looking for birds nests, but I only saw squirrels and one bird that I think was a swallow from the way that it flew, and a couple little finches.
