“When your expectations are set too high, you fall really quickly.” It was the first thought  I had as I left my sit spot on Tuesday, at 3:50pm, immediately after my Ecology lab. My first experience has been so inspiring and exciting that the basic act of sitting still for an hour was harder than I remembered. My spot with the view of two trees has changed slightly since my last visit; the field across the stream was darker in color, the grass around me was darker, and leaves had changed color as well. The stream also had a good amount of fallen leaves already in it, signaling the coming fall. However, the temperature was fairly warm, with no real breeze to cool you down. My only good luck is that the area I picked is shaded, giving it a little cooler vibe and ground.

One new addition to my spot was a plant that I hadn’t noticed in my last visit was a flowing spot on an otherwise normal plant. It caught my attention with its bright pink colors. It sat right to the left of my spot, so it’s spot was facing south. It was beautiful in the sunset, which gave everything a golden glow. The air was also very clear, able to be breathed in with ease. Along with its freshness, the air also had a nice smell of fall, where the decomposition can be seen and smelled.

Overall, this trip to the spot was not as “fun” as the last, but allowed me to tune into it easier. I wish more than just one squirrel was there, but I can’t control the time.
