1st sit spot 6th sit spot
9/15/19 12/3/19
The weather during my last sit spot session was similar to my previous one. However, the sky was much clearer than before. Nothing has really changed since since the last sit spot session. I did see a bunch of birds this time around, which is a big improvement from the zero animals I saw before. The pine tree (one of my three things) has lost some pine needles. It doesn’t look as “full” as before.
The golden rods that I observed changed a lot over the blogging period. The were very yellow and very much alive; now they are very brown and dead. All the leaves fell off my ash tree, but it still stands. My pine tree is still green, with some brown to it. It doesn’t appear as “full” anymore though. I followed these three things because they seemed the most interesting. The golden rods were pretty, ash trees are a big conversation topic right now, and I love pine tree’s.
This experience has helped me reconnect with nature, which I’m thankful for. It’s also reminded me that disconnecting from my phone and sitting in the middle of nature is really good for me, which I know I will do more. The coolest thing I experienced was as I walked straight to my exact spot, I looked over and stared at a deer for a good while before I spooked it. I will also remember me being very scared of uncovering a snake while flipping rocks.
Are the golden rods going to seed?
It’s cool that the experience helped you reconnect with nature. I also felt more connected to nature after my sit-spots. I am also glad that you got to see a deer and I wish that I had seen one during my sit-spots.
