My sit spot is a small area of trees on the path next to the chapel and above beale garden. I chose this spot because the tree reminded me of the ones I would climb as a child. I sat next to the tree facing south east. In the direction I sat I could see the tree’s branches arching over me and all the plants growing on the small hill. The ground is covered in vines with fallen leaves and sticks, little grass grows in the general area under the tree. I really like this spot because few people walk by and it is kind of hidden from other places on campus, like people probably will not see me sitting there and I like that.

In my sit spot I observed many things. First, I noticed the sound of the wind rustling the leaves and the leaves falling because of the wind. The leaves make such a nice sound. I really enjoy hearing it. There were several crickets chirping as well, but I did not see any. The air smelled like trees and dirt. They have an interesting scent, not a bad one though. I do not really know how to describe it. The sky was cloudy, but not too cloudy. There were both stratus and cirrus clouds.

The small hill has many plants growing on it. Most are green, but some have yellow leaves, and some have a few brown leaves. There are also many vines running across the ground, all with green leaves. The ground is covered in fallen leaves and broken sticks. I heard a couple of birds, but I did not see them. I did not know what kind they were because I did not see them. On, the tree I saw a granddaddy long leg spider. It did not move while I was watching it. I also saw a couple of scattered fire ants. I did not see any anthills nearby, so It makes me wonder where they came from.

My second sit spot was a lot better than the first one. It was better because I felt more focused on my surroundings this time and it helped that I was not getting eaten alive by mosquitoes this time. Probably because I went earlier in the day this time.

My three objects are a fallen stick that had one of the fire ants crawling on it. It’s a big stick, but not big enough to be a limb. The bark is starting to come off it. The tree canopy is my second one. Tree canopies always have something
