At approximately 3:10pm on the day of November 1st, I visited my blog spot for the fourth time. I chose to do my observation at 3:10pm because it fit into my schedule. It was also a time that I had never done a blog spot, but by the time I left, I had been there at that time at a previous sitting – 4:24pm. It was also the warmest part of the day, so I figured it would be best to go then instead of at a colder time. I still froze to death despite the “smart” decision I thought I made.
It was very cold (at least to me) while I was at my sit spot. A light breezy 51 degrees outside and a wet ground. One big thing I noticed was when I sat down, that I could see the mountain that was in the distance straight through the tree’s – they lost their leaves almost entirely. The sky was very clear and a deep baby blue, not a cloud in sight. As I observed my sit spot, I noticed a group of gnats was were flying together close to the ground. Even though I looked around, I did not see a second animal. I believe this is because of the cold weather that has started. This was a prime time to be at the sit spot – very peaceful. I would more than likely do it again.
Two out of my three things had significant changes from the last time I was at my spot. My small ash tree lost all of its leaves! All it had was a brown sycamore leaf resting at the fork of it. My golden rods looked so different! The leaves were still green, but the “golden” part had turned brown-whiteish. The stem that was attached to them had withered. The pine tree showed no changed at all. Still has its green needles and very much alive.
I had a similar experience of not spotting animals except for a squirrel. It was very relaxing for me as well so I can understand. I loved how you started your blog with a sense of humor too!
Makes sense the time you chose to me! It was the same for me got to find a time that fits your schedule, but especially that you went a whole hour before. That you realized so many changes as well and it was just an hour like WHAT?! Leaves are everywhere!!!!! So the tree that I am also following is leaves are mostly off.
