I arrived to my sit spot 11/19/2020 at about 5:28pm. I never arrived to my spot at this time of night at all this semester so it was very different. It was 52 degrees outside but a little windy and the sky was so clear I was able to see the moon and sunset. I was excited to be near my sit spot again because I was curious to see what the water around would look like with all this rain that has been going on. I saw the water rushing downward faster than usual and I saw the puddles and felt the slip and slide beneath my shoe of mud. I saw the cars coming up and down the loop with eager Hollins students ready to go home. Even the leaves on the trees were gone. My spot has become like a gravesite no creatures, no birds, it was just me.
I enjoyed going to my sit spot more in the beginning of the semester rather than the end of the semester. every time I went out to my spot it brought me peace and clarity in my life and I really did enjoy it. I wish when I did choose a sit spot in an area where there was not as many cars or random noises just so I could be secluded a little more. Even though the semester is coming to a close I feel like I have a connection with my spot and I may just go back to it. I left my spot at about 6:15 pm and this is the last day of the semester I will be here.
That’s really cool that you were able to see the difference in the river from all the rain. Even though to me it is a little scary being close to rushing water after it has rained. But your sit spot is so pretty, too bad it wasn’t more secluded for you. Hopefully, you were still able to see animals throughout the semester! Great Blog and great pictures!
