From my last sit spot my three things haven’t changed much, the tree hasn’t hallowed out anymore than it already was and the other tree hasnt changed at all besides it lost the remainder of it’s leaves. The baby seedling is just now completely gone where last time it was just fallen over. From my first sit spot almost everything has changed, there is barley any animals that are out besides a few birds and squirrels. Besides the grass and some pines off in the woods behind the creek there arent really any green plants left. The grass went from being clear of debris and sticks to now it is covered in leaf litter and fallen sticks.
In my last sit spot the weather was okay, it was very clear and sunny but it was pretty cold with a slight breeze; it was rough to be outside if you werent in the sun. I only saw five animals on my last sit spot time, two squirrels, two black birds, and a small black spider. Im not sure what kind of birds they were but they were just flying overhead, the squirrels were just running through the woods, and the spider was just crawling on a leaf that was on the ground. The only new thing i noticed is it looks like there is a trail through the leaves like someone has been walking through it.
overall this has been a good experience for me, where I play basketball, work full-time and come to school full-time this gives me a chance to unplug some of the stress I usually deal with and have a chance to breathe and take a moment to think about something else. I learned that for myself its best with my busy schedule to make time to sitdown and relax or unwing from my week and put up distractions like my phone to give myself a chance to calm down from a hectic week. At the start of the semester I didnt really like to be outside but now i think i can and will spend more time outside and make an effort to be out in nature. It is very peaceful without my daily distractions and just makes me have a better day to spend some time outside.
Looking back at my sit spot times I think the thing I will remember most will probably be the time I was sitting there and heard a chicken out in the distance, i still have no idea where the chicken was but that was the most memorablee moment.
I loved reading your post! I am so glad you have found some time to decompress with the sit spot time. I wish I knew where the chicken came from too haha! Do you think you’ll keep spending time in nature just watching it in the future?
I’m happy to hear that your blog spot was able to help to decompress and take some time for yourself in spite of all the things you had going on this semester!
It’s cool that your sit-spot gave you some peaceful time to relax. It is crazy how much your sit-spot changed over time, and it’s so funny that you heard a chicken at one point.
