Days like November 17 makes me wish it was still summer and I was walking around sweating!! It was so cold and dark at 6:15 am when I first arrived at my sit-spot. It was still considered night time when I first got there so it was pretty dark, and the sun hadn’t started to rise. I hadn’t visited my sit spot at this time so it was really new for me. I have visited my spot at night but the morning dark was different from me since I have always been afraid of the dark. I chose this time because I wanted to do a new time for this sit spot, but also because I was still up from the night before. I am not a morning person but I liked being out in the morning.
This sit-spot was my least favorite one yet! It just wasn’t much of anything going on so it made it hard to tune into my surroundings and fully be there. Since my last visit, all the leaves have fallen off the trees in my area, the water is moving even slower, the ground is FREEZING cold and hard as a rock. It was windy, which made it even colder. The sky was clear and dark. There were a few clouds but they were down past my spot not above, the stars were still there but you could tell that the night was becoming day so the stars were starting to fade. The only animal I seen was a squirrel who was either looking for a nut or messing with the one he had. I didn’t see another animal but I did hear the crickets making their normal noise. I was sad to only see a squirrel because I always see a squirrel or a deer, I wanted to see something interesting.
I hadn’t been to my sit spot at this time and during this time, nothing was going on so it wasn’t fun. I enjoyed being there but it was boring, I don’t reccomend going around this time because everything is still ‘asleep.’ Going at this time made me a little more confident in the darkness but I probaly wouldn’t go at this time again. It just made me so uninterested in my sit spot because of it being almost silent my entire 30 minutes of sitting there.
Compared to my last sit spot many things had changed. There were some leaves on my trees for blog #4 but for #5 there weren’t any at all. The ground was hard for my last sit spot but this time it was rock hard, made my butt hurt! There were more sounds in my last sit spot and this one was close to silent besides the blowing of the wind and the rustling of the leaves from the squirrel. The road wasn’t busy at all when it was in the last time. Early morning/ Late night, there just isn’t much going on so its harder to notice things or be able to enjoy yourself while between 2-3 in the day time there are a lot more animals out, the road is always busy and its much more enjoyable! Overall my last sit spot was way better than this sit spot!
You must be super brave, because I couldn’t even bring myself to go out so early and there you were sitting in the dark even though you dislike it. Nice! I’m sorry there wasn’t too much going on, but I’m still proud/ impressed you went out before the sun rose.
I totally understand what you went, there’s always limited activity when it’s super late or early and I’m sorry you have to deal with all that! Maybe bring a blanket with you next time so it won’t be so cold
Hey!
I am glad that you were able to experience what it’s like being at your sit-spot at a different time like the morning, despite it being not the best experience so far. I definitely understand that it may be boring during that time, but hopefully you were able to chill with it being so silent and calm :).
