It was 2:15 pm on a Monday morning when I sat down to take in my sit-spot. I chose this time because I had never visited my spot during the day, only at night and morning so it was intriguing to see my spot in its prime! I knew I wanted to go when the weather would be at the highest for the day so my spot would have a ton of light and the day animals would also be at their highest so I decided between 2-4 would be my best option! Now the sight of my spot during the day is my favorite!
This sit spot visit was definitely one of my favorites! As I sat in my spot, I truly realized how beautiful and fascinating nature truly is. It made me appreciate the world around me more than what I was, because at some point nature was so nasty to me. Since my last visit, the leaf color has grown stronger and now jumps out at you! The trees are so close to being empty, maybe signaling an approaching winter season. The hard ground is almost fully covered by red/orange, and yellow leaves. The stream is still going but you can tell that it is beginning to slow down. My entire spot has almost fully changed due to the change in seasons.
While sitting at my spot, I FROZE! Okay, kidding, I just have low iron so when the wind is blowing and the temperature isn’t over 65 degrees, I think it’s freezing! The weather was truly fall weather, the wind was blowing the leaves around, the ground was cold, and just the overall temperature was only 52! The sky was open! There weren’t many clouds, and there weren’t many things going through the sky. Towards the end of my sit spot I spotted my first and only animal which was a squirrel. The squirrel was running through the leaves and climbing trees probably looking for nuts. I did not see another animal but during my 15 minutes of tuning in, I heard a bee. It made me untune and begin to watch my surroundings because I am terrified of bees! This new experience made me enjoy actually being outside in nature, and even makes me want to get into it more so I can continue to appreciate what is around me! I would and most likely do it again, schedule willing!
The three things that I am still currently watching have dramatically changed! The water in the stream was a low, steady flowing stream but is now a pretty high (from last week’s rain) but slow flowing stream. I didn’t know if the stream slows due to the season changes, so after my hour I looked it up and during the colder season, a stream can begin to slow! The grass at my sit spot was the same, it wasn’t hard, and it wasn’t wet like it tends to be in the morning, it was just grass! Lastly, my tree has completely changed! The leaves are completely red, orange, and yellow! The bottom of the trunk is covered by the fallen leaves! Some branches are empty! My entire tree is basically completely different!
I like your blog, it’s super duper enthusiastic! I’m sorry the bee jolted you, and I know we’re all definitely going to have to bring jackets and blankets or whatever to these spots so we dont freeze to death.
