When I first came into my sit-spot I decided to focus on what I was hearing and feeling. The first thing I heard was the rushing of the creek (river?) behind me, as the last several days have been raining so the creek was and still is quite overflowed. The next thing I noticed was how my blanket became quite wet, quite quickly, definitely due to the ground being so wet from the rain. Next, I looked to the pond to see if the water level there was as high as the water levels of the creek. The pond was nearly as overfilled, but then again, it does have a drain so that when the pond gets too high the water does not get into the road.
The willow tree I have been watching has completely changed and lost almost all its leaves since I the last time I was at my sit-spot. I really thought that willow trees did not lose their leaves in the winter because of how late in the season it seems to be but, there are hardly any leaves on it now. The algae patch is much less vibrant in color, appearing to be much darker green and much smaller.
I am not sure if algae can be “pushed under” when it rains but if that can happen then I feel as though that would be a likely explanation for what has happened. The grass patch on the edge of the creek seems to have been cut again or it is just that submerged in water (which I doubt). Lastly, the sycamore tree, which is not actually one of my three organisms, but I have updated about it on every sit-spot, so it has lost almost all of its leaves and now have several seeds that are getting ready to disperse. The sycamore tree has been the most satisfying to follow, as every time the tree is a little bit different.
After seeing the seeds on the sycamore, I decided to see if I could find any other seeds that had been dispersed into the area around me. I was able to find four. I was obviously able to find the sycamore tree seeds, which were quite spikey very dense. In addition, to that I was able to find pinecones from one of the nearby cedar trees. I was also able to find an airplane seed and a bean like seed. These two seeds were very light and the trees they came from were not visible to me. The distance these seeds traveled compared to the pinecones that just dropped to the ground to hopefully be picked up be animals was quite fascinating. Seeing the different dispersions was quite cool and to be able to identify why they were where they were was also very neat.
When I was picking up leaves and seeds that I had found I came across a quite small bug on the sycamore seed just crawling around. Originally I did what I away do when I find an object with a bug on it, I throw it down and away from me, but then I realized this is was I am supposed to be sticking, so I picked the seed back up to take a picture. I was quite confused as to why it did not fly away, as it had wings, but it stayed the seed, even when I screamed and threw it. The last thing I am going to mention is, much like out decomposition lab, I was able to look down at the leaves and find the decomposers on them, like molds.

I really liked how you talked about the seed dispersal and compared the seeds to each other.
Nice pictures of your spot and of the seeds. Funny in finding seeds you find insect lifeas well. I like that you found other seeds in your space – dispersal!
