My sit spot really changed a lot, not only coming into it’s fall colors but even it’s ambiance is a little more solemn than when it began. The sky is a clear grey with a brisk cold breeze. It is early afternoon when I visit my sit spot and it has a more peaceful tone, maybe because it was as night last time I was here so I couldn’t see that much. It’s not as were and dark as last time but the plants all have begun somephsae of going into automn colors and retracting much needed nutrients for the winter. Many trees are now bare or hanging on to what vegetation they can. My three items I looked at now all had varying effects throughout the semester. The bushes nearby look less full than the beginning and the tree and ivy along the ground are covered in warm colors. As it is day this time I can see squirrels hoping around searching through the fallen leaves. I see some flying bugs of sorts, maybe about the size of a nickel. It doesn’t look to be a bee but maybe a mosquito or sweatbee of sorts? The squirrel just found a nut and it’s off running up the trees with a leave stuck to it’s nut. I saw a bird I didn’t notice earlier, as it was startled by the squirrel I see that it is a NOrthen Mockingbird in all its glory. It doesn’t seem to be sleeping but it’s also not making that much noise so it must be resting. It is perched at the highest branch so I couldn’t see and I’m not really too sure what it was doing. I can hear the stream in the back of the treeline gurgling as usual. It seems to have rained last night so it’s a little louder than usual with rainfall. I love the wat of the leaves with this brisk wind asit’s strong enough to let leaves float down from the trees occasionally. the sky is a nice bright blue with a few staggering clouds. Some streams of jets and wisps of cloud are around the sky and if not for the temperature I would have thought it was summer.

I now look at my three items I’ve been watching throughout the semester. I look at the berry bush from the beginning of the semester and it looks completely different. No berries to be found but now a limp leafed shrub of sorts with many of its branches even bare at this point. The leaves, although some still green, have wilted or are now a limp thin branch of what it once was. The evergreen tree I used as a constant of sorts looks the same as ever. I didn’t expect to see it grow out of proportions but the consistency of it through the changing of the season is pretty cool. I expected these changes to occur, as the bush slowly wilts away and the evergreen is the same as ever, my third item is what supreised my the most. For a field of ivy I really thought it wouldn.y be able to last long in the cold or the changing of the seasons. Suprisngly the ivy looks untouchedby the cold weather. I don;t know if its just needs more lower temperatures to react to the climate but it’s done a pretty good job at staying healthy otherwise. This is probably due to the mass hidden network of roots underneath it. They must be pretty covered up so they aren’t affected by the outside conditions as much as open plant toors are. The fact that I’ve been observing a split I’ve lived next to for years change with the seasons like this is pretty cool. I never paid attention to when or why things look to change with the incoming seasons.

My experiences at my sits-spot sessions have given me an opportunity to immerse myself and be more appreciative of the environment around me. I have completely changed my perspective on appreciating the true beauty of the environments that I am in. It was incredibly enojoyable to take note of specific things within my sit-spot and research different sounds and animals I had found.I greatly enjoyed investigating my sit-spot and my surroundings, which helped create a stronger bond with nature. These sit-spots have made me more comfortable to be out in nature and want to explore more nature spots and acknowledgement for the life going on around me. I’d say I got to enjoy a peaceful outing every other week or so in a nice spot I found. I didn’t learn anything about myself other thanmushroom are pretty gross, but I can say I’ve learned a lot by not doing anything. These first 30 minutes of just zoning into nature are my favorite as it’s just me, me thoughts, and nature. I guess I would preferred to start in the winter or early spring and watch the plants blossom rather than wilt. As the later blods had me out in the cold and rainy season, I think it would have been nice if the final spot was sitting outside on  warm day listening to all the new life trying to make a spot for itself for the spring.
